Prof. Peter Doerschuk (http://www.ece.cornell.edu/peo-detail.cfm?NetID=pd83) is hiring a new Ph.D. student in Fall 2013. The research project would focus on the medical image processing for viruses.
Conditions:
1. Major GPA top %10.
2. The TRUE interests in medical image processing.
3. Solid background in Math(i.e. probability, math analysis/real analysis, linear algebra, etc.) and DSP (they should be reflected by your transcript).
4. Good ability in programming (Matlab, C, C++, etc),
5. Capability in research (plenty research experiences in signal processing/image processing/communications/networks: it would a bonus if you have international conference/journal publications; if you don't, you should at least have some worthy results, preferably a paper, coming from long term(>= 1 year) research experiences other than your course/senior projects).
6. GRE and TOFEL scores satisfying the Cornell ECE's official requests.
