Philips GTD is the global Research and Development organization of Philips Lighting – BG(Business Group) Lamps, which is formally set up on January 1, 2003 and locate its headquarter in Eindhoven. It provides innovation and product/process development services to the Lamps organization of Philips Lighting.
GTD China is responsible for the innovation development programs of Lamps and located in Shanghai Cao He Jing High-tech Park. We are working on the development of LED Lamp & System, Compact Fluorescent Lamps, TL, Halogen, Solid State Lighting and HID.
Electronics Engineer
Job Description:
- Conducts design analyses or simulation of analog and/or digital circuits, with focus being on analog. Modifies existing circuits or designs new circuits which efficiently meet product specifications and customer needs.
- Support design and development activities when functioning as a member of the core engineering team. Engineer will be expected to work on multiple projects/programs.
Job Requirement:
- Master Degree, major in Electronic Engineering
- Focus on analog hardware design is preferred; digital design beneficial.
Analog : Experience with power supply design, circuits for driving capacitive and inductive loads, analog signal conditioning circuitry, switched-mode power supply
Digital : Experience with microprocessors/micro-controller digital architectures, communication protocols and circuits is considered a plus.
Background with printed circuit board design and layout and related EMC/EMI design is also a plus.

Optical Engineer
Job Description:
• Non-imaging optical design and optical engineering for lighting products, including design optical solutions for new products, realize the design by available manufacturing technologies, design tests to verify the optical design & optical parts
• Optical parts and tooling release, including release optical parts and its tooling together with mechanical engineer according to procedures, define the component specification and release criteria (including process capability requirement), organize trails, and tests, and deliver release report with analysis and conclusion
• Optical competence development , actively participate and contribute to the optical competence team, scout, benchmark and bring new optical design technology into our product design in order to improve the performance, lower the cost, and realize never-possible features
Job Requirement:
- Bachelor/Master Degree, major in Physics, Optical or related
- Capability to design optical (sub)systems for products of Lighting: lenses, collimators, light-engines, reflectors, including color-dependencies therein.
- capability to evaluate, judge and/or re-engineer optical systems designed by others, within the relevant field
- Capability to right material for optical purpose and judge the manufacturability of optical design and follow up with supplier to make that
- Experience with optical simulation tools, in particular in the non-imaging optics area, like ASAP, LightTools, Tracepro or Zemax Non-Sequential, are preferred
- Good team work spirit and good initiative
- Good oral and written English skills

Mechanical Engineer
Job Description:
- Define the mechanical design based on the functional specification in cooperation with system engineers, electronic engineers, thermal engineer, process engineer and safety engineer
- Use tool (like UG) to design the mechanical structure, include electronic components design.
- Design and adaptation for fast-prototype for verification of concept and/or build up demonstration
- Deliver design drawings (2D, 3D) and other mechanical documents (BOM, 110sheet) per request of project manager, purchasing and marketing
- Release mechanical parts together with tooling for product, process, and production release
Job Requirement:
- Mechanical or other related major
- Master Degree with project working experience
- Be familiar with mechanical design software, like UG.
- Good command of the English language in both speaking and writing is a must
Process Development Engineer
Job Description:
- Cooperate with cross-functional team to introduce new process in the production line;
- Improve process capability and solve process problems;
- Design and test new lamp structure;
- Test new material and establish material properties requirements;
- Develop and maintain current knowledge and skills on all industry and/or professional trends in own field.
- Support factory and other department for the improvement projects.
Job Requirement:
- B.S. Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- Working experience in production line, lighting industry experience is preferable.
- Familiar with process control and statistics.
- Good written and spoken English skill.
- Self-motivated.
System Development Engineer
Job Description:
- Performs thorough analysis, conducts feasibility studies on projects. Upon final approval from Development Manager, implements all necessary functions.
- Write clear reports to communicate the results of work to groups in China and Europe as well as to marketing and manufacturing colleagues.
- Define clear specifications for products, processes and systems during design phase.
- Monitor the application of projects to ensure the product quality standards are maintained and continued specifications integrity, In case of negative deviation, actively promptly and under the direction of Development Manager analyses situations and recommends appropriate action.
- Supports Eco design and adhere product safety.
Job Requirement:
- Master degree at least, major in lighting/ optics/ physics.
- Good capability to design and perform the design experiment, as well as data analysis.
- Well capable in modeling. Familiar with programming of VBA in excel, Matlab and etc.
- Fluent English and good computer capabilities.
- Have a very good team work. Be willing to provide the in time and proper support to others to complete the project.
Product Development Engineer
Job Description:
- Performs thorough analysis, conducts feasibility studies on projects. Write clear reports to communicate the results of work to groups in China and Europe as well as to marketing and manufacturing colleagues
- Monitor the application of projects to ensure the product quality standards are maintained and continued specifications integrity, In case of negative deviation, actively promptly and under the direction of Development Manager analyses situations and recommends appropriate action.
- Product application support (pre-sale and after-sale), perform measurement and analysis reports.
- Get familiar to energy efficient standard and product safety standard; Supports Eco design and adhere product safety.
Job Requirement:
- Master degree, major in lighting/ optics/ physics.
- Good capability to perform the design/validate experiment, as well as data analysis.
- Good at communication, Strong Leverage capabilities, result driven
- Have a very good team work. Be willing to provide the in time and proper support to others to complete the project.
