报告摘要(Abstract):

Transceiver design in MIMO systems to mitigate the interference between the parallel data streams has been extensively investigated. Despite the numerous works dedicated to linear transceivers, the practical design of nonlinear methods, especially the ones for multiuser MIMO system, are still incomplete.

In this talk, I’ll present a novel adaptive nonlinear transceiver scheme for the general scenario where both the transmitter and the receivers are with multiple-antennas. In this algorithm, a block successive zero-forcing (ZF) precoding is first applied at the transmitter to pre-cancel partial multiuser interference. Then Tomlinson-Harashima (TH) precoding is applied to further eliminate the residual interference between the data streams of the users, whereas linear equalization and modulo operation are applied at each user. We first show that the proposed joint nonlinear transmit-receive processing algorithm effectively decomposes the multiuser MIMO channel into parallel independent single-user MIMO channels. The proposed algorithm adapts the number of data streams of each user according to the fading of multiuser channel to optimize the bit error rate performance of the system. It is shown that generalized triangular decomposition (GTD) offers a family of optimal solutions. Optimal power allocation to each user and closed-form expressions of optimal transmit and receive processing matrices are derived subject to the total power constraint and bit rate requirement of each user.

报告人简介(Short Biography):

Liang Sun received Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Hong Kong, in 2010. From 2010 to 2011 he was a researcher with Alcatel-Lucent Shanghai Bell. He is currently working as a researcher with NEC Laboratories China, NEC Corporation. His current research interests are in the area of communication theory and signal processing, with a particular focus on random matrix theory, multivariate statistical theory and the applications to the design and analysis of communication systems, MIMO, multiuser and heterogeneous wireless networks, cooperative communications, limited feedback techniques, and cognitive systems.

Dr. Sun received the 2010 Young Author Best Paper Award by the IEEE Signal Processing Society for his IEEE Transactions on Signal processing paper and Hong Kong Telecom Institute of Information Technology Post-Graduate Excellence Scholarships.
