The Information and Communication Engineering Graduate Program is motivated by the explosive growth in demand for increased network bandwidth and services. It addresses cutting-edge aspects of current and future technologies required to engineer the communications networks and information services that will support a data-driven society in both the near and long-term future. The program focuses on the theoretical and practical aspects of communications systems and networks. This spans all aspects of communications and information systems from the fundamentals of data transmission and compression to physical-layer and network-layer research, as-well-as including network operations and management. Increasingly work also includes the study of information engineering, optimal data-management and data-acquisition to maximise user experiences through tools such as Machine-Learning (ML) and other Artificial-Intelligence (AI). State-of-the-art laboratory facilities offer a unique and unparalleled capability to complement fundamental research with prototype development and testing.
