Two ISEE Alumni Named 2022 IEEE Fellows!

Date:2021-11-30

On November 24, 2021, the International Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) officially announced the list of newly selected fellows in 2022. A total of 265 scholars were named, including 83 Chinese scholars (accounting for about 31.3%). DAI Linglong and ZHU Jiang, alumni of the Zhejiang University College of Information Science and Electronic Engineering (ISEE) were among them.

DAI is recognized for his contributions to large-scale MIMO (multiple input multiple output)

DAI Linglong is now an associate professor and doctoral supervisor of the Department of electronic engineering of Tsinghua University and the winner of the National Natural Science Foundation of China for Outstanding Young Scholars. Prof. Dai received the B.S. degree from Zhejiang University in 2003, the M.S. degree (with the highest honor) from the China Academy of Telecommunications Technology (CATT) in 2006, and the Ph.D. degree (with the highest honor) from Tsinghua University in 2011. From 2011 to 2013, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University, where he has been an Assistant Professor since July 2013 and then an Associate Professor since June 2016. His current research interests include 5G/6G wireless communication technologies (massive MIMO, millimeter-wave/Terahertz communications, non-orthogonal multiple access, etc.) and machine learning for future wireless communications.

Prof. Dai is currently serving as an Area Editor of the IEEE Communications Letters (2019-). He has also served as an Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Communications (2017-2021), and an Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology (2016-2020). He has also served as a Guest Editor of the IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Signal Processing (the Special Issue on Hybrid Analog-Digital Signal Processing for Hardware-Efficient Large Scale Antenna Arrays), a Guest Editor of the IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications (the Special Issue on Millimeter Wave Communications for Future Mobile Networks), and the Leading Guest Editor of the IEEE Wireless Communications (the Special Issue on Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access for 5G). Prof. Dai is a co-chair of the IEEE Special Interest Group (SIG) on Signal Processing Techniques in 5G Communication Systems.

ZHU is recognized for his contributions to the design of wireless communication antenna

ZHU Jiang is a senior researcher at Meta Reality Labs. He received the B.S. degree in Electronic Information Engineering from the College of Information Science and Electronic Engineering, Zhejiang University in 2003, and the M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from McMaster University in 2006 and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto in 2010.

Dr. Zhu Jiang is currently serving as an Associate Editor of the IEEE Internet of Things Journal (2020-) and the IEEE Transaction on Antennas and Propagation (2016-). He has also served as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters (2013-2017). Dr. Zhu is the winner of IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society Outstanding Young Engineer Award (2020), and IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society Doctoral Research Award (2009).
