Description

This course will provide a thorough introduction to microwave remote sensing theory and applications. The emphasis is on understanding the underlying principles of electromagnetic wave interaction with complex terrain, SAR imaging, and the interpretation of SAR image data. Current development in the application of deep learning to remote sensing will also briefly touched.

 

Objectives

To acquaint the students with the physical principles underlying microwave remote sensing systems and applications;

To introduce the students to methods of interpreting and analyzing SAR image data;

To provide some insight concerning the applications of microwave remote sensing in various discipline areas.

 

Lecture

Multimedia material will be used for most of the lectures.
