The world has entered the era of information theory and signal space theory.Communication and observation are two major application areas of information theory and signal space theory.Communication, mainly wireless communication, involves a vast space of human activity and exploration: celestial bodies, atmosphere and ocean.Observations exist in radar, sonar, control, astronomy, navigation, seismology, biomedical engineering, financial engineering and many other disciplines.Communication and observation can be unified under the framework of Remote image formation. Image formation is a kind of image science, which is a combination of signal space theory, information theory and estimation theory.This course focuses on the theory of signal space formation, estimation theory and information theory and their combination.The focus is on application-oriented concepts and methodologies.
