Course Introduction

The course is prepared to introduce the knowledge essential to radio frequency (RF) integrated circuits (IC) design, with emphasis on both architecture and circuit level issues. Based on a discussion on various receiver and transmitter topologies, the basic concepts and technology for RFIC design and evaluation are presented. The course will focus on the design of some key RFIC blocks, including low noise amplifiers, mixers, and oscillators. The students are encouraged to improve the design once they have learned the basic design skills.
